The Administrative staff lead by the Superintendent, Dr. John Kelly, oversees the Day-to-day operations of the District and the policy set by the elected School Board Trustees.
Trustees are elected for 3 year terms and these overlap such that roughly 1/3 are up for election each year with elections taking place in May.
Meetings or the Board of Trustees take place on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 P.M. However, it is very important to check the trustee calendar on the BISD website and check the dates of these meetings, as they do change from time to time.
The best way to view the agenda is by going to www.boerne-isd.net and going to the Board of Trustees section. Then you click on the section that says agenda. After that you click on the appropriate date for the meeting.
Visitors have 5 minutes to speak on their issue, and unless the issue is on the agenda the board may not comment, but only ask questions for clarity purposes.
You can contact the board without coming to the meeting. You can address a letter to any board member you like and send it to central office. Erik Thormaehlen is currently the only board member with an e-mail on the website, erikforbisd@yahoo.com, however, Dr. Kelly shares e-mails that he gets with board members when members of the public request that he do so. You can e-mail Dr. Kelly at john.kelly@boerne-isd.net |
